Thank you very much to all of you supporting us. June 22 Yo's Birthday!!今日は洋一さんのお誕生日です。
双子の健二君もお誕生日おめでとう!! 素敵なお誕生日になりますように。 今日も、洋一さんは授業があったので、忙しかったけれど、お仕事が
終わったあとに、二人ででかけて、お外で食事をしました。
ピッツフォードのピザ屋さんでピザを食べました。 今日はピッツフォードは何かイベントがあったみたいで激コミでした。 前から行きたかった釜焼きのピザ屋さんだったのだけど、入ってみたら、
結構カジュアルな感じで、お祝いディナーにはちょっと申し訳なかったかな。
大きめのピザだから、ランチにちょっと行くにはとっても良いかもしれません。
スープとサラダと薄焼きピザを食べて、帰ってきました。
あと、私のささやかなへそくりから、プレゼントを買って、ディナーの時に
あげました。ずっと洋一さんが欲しがっていたものです。 June 20 Thunderstorm昨日は珍しく朝から天気が悪くて、厚い雲に覆われて、窓の外が
とても暗かったのですが、お昼になって、さらに、天気が悪くなって、
暴風と雷雨に。
雷がものすごく近くに落ちた瞬間、アパートが停電になりました。
最初は、一部、部屋の電気がついたのですが、次の日、目が覚めたら
完全に停電になっていました。
今まで、あまり長い時間停電になったことがなかったのですが、
今回は復旧に１日かかり、今日のお昼にやっと電気が使えるように

Yoichi & Megumi June 16 Summer Bazaar今日は、日本語教会でバザーがありました。
事前に、日本のものが色々ありますって聞いてはいたのだけど、期待を はるかに上回る品ぞろえで、家の物を増やすまいとの決意とは裏腹に、
つい、色々買ってしまいました。本や、和風な手作りカード、バッグ、漆の
お盆、和食器など。。中でも、バーバリーのバッグ( 小さ目のリクルート
バッグみたいなバッグ )が$10で、衝撃でした。日本のテレビを録画した
ビデオも5セントで買えて、本当にお買い得でした。
食べ物も、焼きそばやおにぎり、お寿司があって、他にもお菓子もたくさん
あって、夏の縁日のようでした。
月に一回の子供プログラム、トレジャーシーカーズもあって、みんなで
野球をしたり、水遊びをしたりしました。洋一さんと一緒に、野球の審判や
キャッチャーなど、子供たちに混じって一緒に野球をしました。 June 15 Graduation今日は、英語学校の卒業式でした。
学校は１年単位のプログラムで、9月に始まり、6月に卒業式があります。 今年は英語学校に通って3年目なので、3回目の卒業式でした。
300時間以上授業に出席したので、ゴールドメダルシール付の卒業証書を
いただきました。それから、特別賞があったのですが、特別賞の一番最初に
名前を呼んでいただいて、紹介していただきました。名前が呼ばれた時は、
本当にびっくりしました。
賞をいただいた理由は、TOEFLを勉強して、大学院を受験し、合格したので、
学校で英語を勉強し、努力した成果を表彰していただきました。
卒業式の後は、お友達と屋外でお茶会をしました。
木陰は風が心地よくて、ピクニック日和でした。 最後に、私の9月からの進路ですが、ジュエリーデザインではなく、数学が 生かせる分野で頑張ることになりました。頑張ります!

Today was the graduation at our English school.
As our English school has a one-year program, we graduate from school
every June. We got certificates at the ceremony, and mine especially had
a gold medal sticker on it because I attended the classes for over 300 hours!!
Moreover, I got an award for my academic endeavor and achievement.
I am so proud of it.
After the ceremony, I went to my friend's apartment and enjoyed picnic
with my friends outside. Today was a pretty day. June 14 Lunch with friendsI went to a Italian restaurant with my friends because one of them
will go back to Japan next week. I still cannot believe the fact that
she will go back to Japan; we had a good time as usual and talked
our daily topics as usual.

back to their country. I will miss them... There were many times to say
good-bye to my friends in past three years, and they made me sad.
I hope their good luck and happiness in their new place.
It was a perfect sunny day for BBQ with a lovely breeze.
We enjoyed summer in Rochester together. June 10 New PC私の使っていたコンピュータが壊れてしまったので、これを機に、新しい
デスクトップを買いました。アメリカのパソコンなので、基本的に日本語は
使えないのですが(読むことは今まで通り可能です)、裏技を使うと
日本語を書くこともできます。(お義父さんに教えていただきました。)
今は、英語の表示のディスプレイを見るのが新鮮で、英語の勉強も兼ねて
楽しんでいます。壊れる前のノートパソコンは動きも重たくなっていたので、
新しいデスクトップの動きの軽やかさを実感できて、そんなことにも感動して
います。

We bought a new PC since my computer had been broken.
The new one is a desktop, works so fast, but cannot write Japanese. (I can type Japanese somehow.)
To use a computer in English is really good practice for me
because all icons on the display that I already knew in Japanese are shown in English. After I bought it, I am curious to know alternative
English words to some Japanese words and I am enjoying using PC
more. June 09 TOEFLI took TOEFL this morning.
I wanted to change the dates because my PC was broken so that
I couldn't prepare enough for the TOEFL-ibt; however, I couldn't find
the substitutable date, so I decided to take it on schedule...
The only one good thing was my eyes could take a rest before the test.
Of course, I did MY best, but... mhm... I think I need take it again... June 07 The university libraryBecause my PC was broken though I am going to take TOEFL
this Saturday, I am studying for TOEFL at the university library.
In a break, I met Yoichi and had lunch together. June 06 Graduation PartyI had a party at my English class because my English school
will be over next week. Bette planned games and prepared
cards and flowers for us. We were excited with games and
ate our dishes together.
We also prepared a card and a gift for her, collecting messages
and money secretly. We gave her a pocket watch with a carved
message, "World's Greatest Teacher." I also gave her my jewely.
I know Bette likes blue, so I made a bracelet with Sapphire and
Kyanite, and earrings with Kyanite and Hematite.
I really appreciate Bette and her English class. I am sure she
is the one who changed my life. June 03 A gift from JapanI received a parcel from my friend in Japan!
I took photos, and I really wanted to attach them on my blog,
but unfortunately, my PC was broken... After my PC is repaired
or I replece with new one, I will show you the wonderful gift
from her.
